In approximately five months time I hope to be in New York to celebrate a “special birthday”. I don’t know whether the ice skating season extends to April, but just in case it does, here’s a track from the 1963 collaboration between doomed genius of the keys, Bill Evans and underrated guitarist Jim Hall. Either way, this is great Sunday morning music and a masterclass in guitar/piano interplay…or interplay in general.
The whole Undercurrent LP is a treat by the way (especially their reading of My Funny Valentine) and has been a favourite round these parts since the days when you had to put a record on if you wanted to hear music… *eyes mist over*
